TRAINING & SUPPORT
Our new store owners are assigned to a Trainer for approximately 4 weeks. The Trainer starts to educate the new owner on their new retail business two weeks before the store build out begins and continues through the first 10 days after the store is open. Early on, a Dollar Chest Trainer assists you to ensure that all permits and licenses are obtained and ready to operate the new store.
Additionally, we send to the store site a Build Out Supervisor to coordinate the store build out, assuring the store opens timely and properly. The Build Out Supervisor trains the new owner regarding all matters of the physical store, such as stocking techniques, cleanliness, cash register usage and form completion.
After training is complete, we assign an experienced wholesale representative, who will maintain permanent contact with the store manager on a regular basis to make sure everything is satisfactory and going well.
The wholesale representative will present the large selection of different products as they becomes available and discussing topics like how to get ready for Valentines, Christmas, etc. We have dedicated suppliers who will take great care of our store owners.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT LOCATION
We work with a selected team of professional Leasing Agents to select busy traffic areas and consumer walk areas for your new Dollar Chest Store.
We pay attention to the different demographic requirements. For example, in a large metropolitan area we look for locations in close proximity to the shopping center anchor; an anchor that generates sufficient traffic. However in a small community a store on the main street typically works well.
Here are some of the criteria that may be important in selecting your location: population based within a certain distance of the store, location of competition, average residential income, and size of community, traffic counts, and average sales of the anchor.
Once the proper location is identified, the Leasing Manager assigned to your project negotiates a lease agreement looking for the lowest possible rental rate including a free rent period for setting up the store and tenant improvement allowances.
If our lawyers are satisfied with the terms and conditions of the lease it will be drafted and reviewed with the client legal representative. Only after all questions have been answered satisfactorily, the lease will be signed and works will begin to open the new Dollar Chest Store.
